Happy Birthday

Cinque canzoni da ascoltare il giorno del compleanno, in bilico tra buon umore e angoscia esistenziale.

1) "Bullet with Butterfly Wings" degli Smashing Pumpkins. Perché è arrabbiata e trascinante e mi ricorda di quando pogavo al Black Out. E perché "Despite all my rage I'm still just a rat in the cage".

2) Un pezzo di John Coltrane. Uno qualsiasi. Perché dopo i 35 anni i cd jazz ti spuntano negli scaffali come i capelli bianchi in mezzo all chioma. Sono come l'analisi del sangue, una rottura di scatole ma te toccano.

3) "You're Only Human" di Billy Joel. Perché "I survived all those long lonely days when it seemed that I did not have a friend".

4) "Thunder Road " di Bruce Springsteen. Perché: "What else can we do now, except roll down the window and let the wind blow back your hair. Well the night's busting open, these two lanes will take us anywhere...". Uno il sogno lo mantiene. Certo è dura. Meno male che c'è il boss.

5) "Time" dei Pink Floyd. Perché il tempo è maledetto. Non si può non pensarci. Anzi, meglio andare contro il dolore e quindi: "And then one day you find, ten years have got behind you, no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun....

e ancora: "The sun is the same in the relative way, but you're older. Shorter of breath and one day closer to death".
